Rewarded video ads, where users get in-game rewards in return for watching an advert, have become fairly commonplace in mobile video games. But Dave Morgan, CEO of Simulmedia, says there’s a big opportunity to bring TV-style ads, rather than the direct-response app-install ads usually found in mobile gaming, to premium blockbuster video games. In this interview, Morgan outlines why he’s excited about in-game advertising, and also explains why he’s not convinced ad-supported video on-demand (AVOD) will really take off any time soon.
