We’re proud to announce the first three speakers for this year’s New Video Frontiers event, which will take place in London from October 2nd to 3rd. This year’s event will be held at two venues in King’s Cross London: the St Pancras Renaissance Hotel, where we will be holding a more intimate networking event on 2nd October, whilst the main conference will be returning to King’s Place on 3rd of October.
We’ll be announcing more speakers in the coming weeks, but we’re particularly excited to share our first three with you. They are: Kevin McGurn, Chief Sales Officer, Vevo, Toni Petra, EVP of Watch for Nielsen and Dave Morgan, CEO at Simulmedia. Early bird tickets are still available and can be purchased here.
Kevin McGurn, Chief Sales Officer, Vevo
Kevin McGurn has been at the vanguard of video monetisation for many of the world’s most successful and innovative. Having started his career on the ad tech side of the fence with Unicast, DoubleClick and Audience Science, he went on to serve as VP of Sales for NBC Universal, SVP of Sales for Hulu, Global Chief Revenue Officer for Shazam, Head of Sales for Fullscreen and Otter Media Companies. Last year, under Kevin’s tenure, Vevo’s revenue jumped 30 percent to $650 million in 2017, up from $500 million the year prior.
Toni Petra, EVP, Watch, Nielsen
Toni Petra is Executive Vice President of Nielsen’s International Watch Business and manages Nielsen’s media measurement assets outside of the US. Globally the Watch division is on course to deliver approximately $1 billion in revenue for Nielsen this year. Petra is a Nielsen veteran and joined the company in 1991. In 1994, she travelled to Europe and joined the AGB Group, living and working in Watch businesses in Italy, Turkey, Switzerland and Australia. Following Nielsen’s acquisition of AGB in 2008, Toni, now back in Switzerland, has held a variety of executive roles across both Nielsen’s Watch and Buy businesses.
Dave Morgan, CEO, Simulmedia
Few people on the planet understand both TV and digital advertising than Dave Morgan, who as well as being CEO of Simulmedia is also one of the world’s most respected industry commentators. He previously founded and ran both TACODA, Inc., an online advertising company that pioneered behavioral online marketing and was acquired by AOL in 2007 for $275 million, and Real Media, Inc., one of the world’s first ad serving and online ad network companies and a predecessor to 24/7 Real Media (TFSM), which was later sold to WPP for $649 million. After the sale of TACODA, Dave served as Executive Vice President, Global Advertising Strategy, at AOL, a Time Warner Company (TWX).
