Blinkx, a video search engine, has announced a partnership with video platform Dailymotion. Blinkx will embed Dailymotion’s player alongside its own content to give users access to Dailymotion’s video library on Blinkx. Dailymotion will then be able to serve ads against these videos and share any revenue made revenue with Blinkx.
Blinkx’s inventory will be boosted by tapping into Dailymotion’s index of over 30 million videos, including the premium content from their ‘Motionmaker Program‘ and independently produced content.
“This agreement enhances our video index with a rich library of compelling and varied video content,” said S. Brian Mukherjee, CEO of Blinkx. “Adding Dailymotion to our strong roster of partners enables us to continue to grow our index of up-to-date videos and ensure we deliver our video-viewing audience the very best in entertainment content.”
“Blinkx’s integration into the Dailymotion Publisher platform heralds a prominent validation of our network’s growth, value and reach,” said Luc Dumont, SVP International Development for Dailymotion. “Our Publisher Network offers a tangible incentive for publishers like blinkx to give incremental visibility to the Dailymotion player across their digital network: it means more content, more time spent and now more monetization.”
